Orson Tan is a senior research fellow at the Institute for Indo-Pacific Affairs and holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. He specializes in identity politics, ethno-nationalism, regional security and comparative politics in the Indo-Pacific. A key focus of his research is on the role of ASEAN and its member states in the changing geopolitical environment of the Indo-Pacific.
